I wanted to share my concern regarding my recent experience. Unfortunately, the interaction with administration staff was not professional and did not feel patient-centered. Due to a miscommunication regarding my insurance coverage, I was abruptly told, “You will pay the full amount,” without any effort to provide support, discuss possible solutions, or approach the situation with empathy. What made the situation more frustrating was that this was addressed only after my MRI had already been completed, which left me feeling uncomfortable and unsupported. I remained calm throughout the interaction and simply asked if I could reschedule after speaking with my insurance company, which was eventually agreed upon. Additionally, another staff member commented that it was “an awkward situation,” which should not have been said in front of a patient and only added to the discomfort. Patients deserve professionalism, compassion, and respectful communication, especially during stressful situations involving medical care and insurance matters. I did notify my primary dentist regarding the experience because the attitude and handling of the situation felt unnecessary and disappointing.
